Five unrelentingly pounding episodes, starting with Episode I: Chaos Reigns Compels the Hippocampus, which is characterised by a chopping riff, soaring vocals and a fist-thick groove. From that track on, we just enjoy 40 minutes of Rotterdam quality. Just listen to how easily the furious Episode III: The Waves in The Rivers of Bile goes from hectic sludgy rhythms to atmospheric passages.

Episode IV: Homeless, Spineless and Wallow does it all over again. Episode V: Last Resort’s Sudden Gift is there to close this overwhelming debut album. Heavy stuff.
